Obituary of John Henry Stiltner

John Henry Stiltner, 69, departed this life on September 18, 2023 at his home in Logan. He was born on August 18, 1954, in Wayne County, the son of the late William Tolbert “Tob” and Mae Virginia Stiltner. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, William Stiltner, Jr.; one brother-in-law, Max Dean Parsons, Sr. John was a disabled diesel mechanic formerly employed with Brody Mining. He enjoyed shooting guns, sitting in his rocker on the front porch, and his grandchildren. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 23 years, Peggy Lynn (Browning) Stiltner; children, Taylor Stiltner and her fiancé Bryce Hamilton of Logan, Hayleigh Stiltner and her fiancé Chandler Runyon of Logan, Katie Lively and her fiancé Michael Perry of Davin, William “Billy” Stiltner and his fiancé Lora Horn of NC, Janet and her husband Christopher Griffin of Williamson, and Christina and her husband Brian Blackburn, of Hardy,KY; two sisters: Paula Parsons of Kistler and Frances Grimmett and her husband Tracy of Davin; three brothers, Albert Stiltner and his wife Brenda of Lavalette, Clyde Stiltner and his wife Sadie of Coalton, OH, and Doug Stiltner and his wife Nema of Wayne; four grandchildren, Kaylee Julious, Derek Julious, Joshua Lively, and Kamryn “Turtle” Hamilton; his parents-in-law, Leonard and Mandy Browning of Verner; longtime employers and friends, Darren McDaniels and Jack McDaniels; and many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 23, 2023, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home with Rev. Hobart Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in Napier Cemetery in Wayne. Pallbearers will be Bryce Hamilton, Michael Perry, Chandler Runyon, James Grimmett, Lincoln Runyon, Derek Julious, and Joshua Lively.
