Obituary of Alvin Ray Gilco

Alvin Ray Gilco, 68, of Kistler, suddenly departed this life on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at Cabell Huntington. He was born on February 12, 1956, at Man, the Son of the late Thomas and Addilee (Blankenship) Gilco. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one Daughter, Amy Michelle Gilco; two brothers, Terry Gilco and John Gilco; Niece, Tamara Gilco; two Nephews John Evans, and David Aaron Gilco; Alvin adored his family more than anything. His children and grandchildren were his whole world along with his brothers and sister. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and being outdoors. Alvin really enjoyed listening to true classic country. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Those left to cherish his memory are one daughter, Brandi (Joe) Nelson of Accoville; three Brothers, Benny (Ella) Gilco of Accoville, Tom (Gloria) Gilco of Accoville, Paul (Mary) Gilco of Oceana; one sister, Angie (Eugene) Hopson of Accoville; five grandchildren, Braxton Harper, Taylor (Trey) Hatfield of Landville, Nevah Robertson, Keyona Nelson, and A very special grandson Caleb Gilco of Gillman Bottom; a very special great-grandson, Grayson Gilco; five Nephews, Tommy Lee Gilco of Kistler, Russell Evans of Accoville, Ricky Evans of Sutton, Chuck Gilco of VA, and Brandon (Madonna) Gilco of Oceana; four Nieces, Michelle Rayburn of VA, Bethany Gilco of Beckley, Jeananne (Randy Hall) Gilco of Logan, Lisa (Chuck Cline Jr.) Gilco of Oceana; very special friends, Terry Chapman of Crown, Donald (Debbie) Johnston of Kistler, Tammy Stephens of Man, Christopher Spears of Man, and Sheldon Ellis of Davin; along with a host of relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2024, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Monday, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Tony Garcia officiating. In honor of Alvin’s wishes his remains will be cremated following services.
